Rehabilitation London - Isokinetic
Our Central London clinic is our first outside of Italy, from where we have provided world-class and innovative treatment for more than 27 years. With vast experience managing sports injuries and the injury rehabilitation process, we are a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, offering expert Sports Medicine consultations, effective rehabilitation treatment and recovery programmes. Our new international flagship centre opened on 29th September 2014 at 11 Harley Street.
WHAT WE DO
Although we do work with professional athletes and sporting organisations, we treat people at all levels of sport, whatever their injury. We seek to provide patients with a diagnosis, physio, integrated rehabilitation services and a recovery from a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems. Knee injuries are our speciality, especially issues affecting the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) – although we are equally effective at treating a wide range of acute or chronic injuries sustained playing rugby, football, running, skiing, or during other sport, exercise or simple everyday life. Whatever your injury, we can offer an expert medical consultation and create an accelerated rehabilitation programme to help you recover. Book a consultation online now.
Isokinetic has revolutionised the way sports rehabilitation is delivered. We divide rehabilitation into five distinct phases and assign a doctor to case-manage each individual patient, ensuring you get the best possible care and support throughout your treatment. Learn more about our five phases. Managing patient care and the entire sports rehabilitation process is what we do best. We also have close links in the local area, London and around the world, and can assist you in finding the right orthopaedic surgeons, MRI scans, or whatever else may be necessary for your rehabilitation.
Our facilities are what you would normally expect to find only in an elite sports or military Sports Medicine & rehabilitation environment. Set over three primary floors there are four fully-equipped Sports Medicine consulting suites and 3 rehabilitation gyms, alongside a multi-depth aquatherapy pool and an indoor field (our innovative “Green Room”). We also have indoor training facilities at Lord’s Cricket ground and other outdoor sports fields for further rehabilitation work. In addition to our locker rooms and shower facilities, patients can relax in our lounge areas.
YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
Your first appointment will be at least a 40 minute consultation with one of our Sports Medicine Doctors – so be sure to bring any recent X-ray or other scan results when you come. We’ll cover your medical history, key lifestyle information, your expectations of recovery and personal goals. Taking all of this into account, your doctor will become your personal Case Manager, guiding you through the entire process. We may also move to the gym for an initial rehabilitation session and functional evaluation, so it is also a good idea to bringing appropriate gym kit.
YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS
Right from your first appointment your doctor will start to prepare a customised rehabilitation plan. Exercise is the key to our model of care, so you should expect to start rehabilitation sessions in the gym or pool almost immediately. Sessions typically last 90-120 minutes, although many patients like to stay longer.
PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE
Many of you will have private medical insurance coverage which can be used to pay for some or all of your treatment. We are recognised by all of the major insurers for our services and have direct billing agreements with BUPA, AXA-PPP, Allianz and CIGNA. There are, however, many variations around benefits such as levels of reimbursement, annual excess and number of sessions allowed per calendar year, that mean it is often very specific to you. The most important starting point is to make your insurance company aware you are coming to see us, and ask for a pre-authorisation number (where appropriate). Even if we do not direct bill for you, we understand, that it is not always easy to manage, so we will provide all the additional support you may need to make this as simple as possible. Please just ask if you have any concerns or need help. We would hate for it to get in the way of your recovery.
HOW TO FIND US
You can reach us easily by public transport. We are based at 11 Harley Street in London’s West End, just a short walk from Oxford Circus and Bond Street tube stations. There is vehicle access too, should you need to be dropped off or collected at the door. Find us on Google Maps.
